Abstract: Lepton Flavor Violating (LFV) tau decays are strongly suppressed in the Standard Model while some of New Physics models indicates the branching fractions of several tau LFV decay modes are observable in the B factory experiments. Belle has studied 48 LVF tau decay modes and set 90% C.L. upper limits on the branching fractions, which are several orders of magnitude larger than the prediction. And then the experiment is in an upgrade to increase statistics of the data sample by a factor of 50. In this presentation, we review the current tau LFV studies and discuss future prospects in the Belle II experiment.
