Abstract Charged lepton flavor violation (CLFV) is forbidden in the Standard Model but possible in several new physics scenarios. Thus, the observation of CLFV would be a clear signature of new physics. We report the world-leading result of lepton-flavor-violating decays of \tau lepton decays into a light charged lepton (l = e,mu) and a vector meson using the full data sample collected by the Belle. In addition, we report the searches for new physics in tau decays, especially with its decay involving heavy neutral lepton. We also cover recent searches for tau decays into a scalar non-standard-model particle and a light charged lepton. The results are based on the data set collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider.
