SuperKEKB 加速器のビーム衝突点付近にシンチレーション検出器を2個設置して、2016 年2 月から6 月にかけて行われたPhase-1 試験運転で、電子ビームのみ電流値480 mAで蓄積して鉛直方向のビームサイズ50ミクロンに絞った状況ではタウ シェック散乱由来のバックグラウンドの割合が76.6±1.7 %であることを示した。
