Abstract: The Belle experiment recored during its runtime a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711 fb^-1 at the Upsilon(4S) resonance. Based on this dataset the hadronically tagged analysis of the rare decay B^+ -> l^+ nu gamma determined an upper limit of BR(B^+ -> l^+ nu gamma) < 3.5 x 10^-6. For the upcoming Belle II experiment new analysis tools have been developed which also allow to re-analyze the Belle data and make it possible to do a first measurement of this decay.
