Quirks in quark flavour physics
Abstract: The rate of semitauonic B decays has been consistently above theory expectations since these decays were first measured. Recently significant differences between the forward-backward asymmetry in B -> Denu and B -> Dmunu were also reported. Belle II data are well suited to probe these anomalies. The low-background collision environment along with the possibility of partially or fully reconstructing one of the two B mesons in the event offer high precision. This talk presents recent Belle II results on lepton flavor universality tests based on B->D(*)ell nu decays. We also discuss anomalies in hadronic B decay such as the πΎπ puzzle and the πβπ·(β)β branching fractions.
