This measurement is particularly important for a precise test of the unitarity condition. Two types of measurement exist to extract |Vub|, both relying on semi-leptonic decays of B mesons: the exclusive measurements (where a particular u-hadron is reconstructed) and the inclusive measurements (they effectively sum over all possible hadronic final states containing a u-quark). The two methods show a long-standing discrepancy of 3sigma.
