As the present tau lifetime uncertainty is below 0.2%, a competitive measurement is particularly challenging. The method proposed for the Belle II experiment exploits the tiny beam spot size at the interaction point obtained through the new collision scheme of SuperKEKB. By this method, a competitive statistical uncertainty could already be reached with early Belle II data. 000002214 8560_ $$fdavid.jaffe@desy.de 000002214 8564_ $$uhttps://docs.belle2.org/record/2214/files/BELLE2-TALK-CONF-2021-005.pdf
