We use MC12 simulation to devise an optimized selection to be applied to the full (Phase 3) data set collected in 2019, corresponding to 5.61 fb −1 of integrated luminosity. The m bc distribution of the resulting sample, restricted in ∆E, is fit to search for a B → Kπ charmless signal. A total signal yield of approximately 28 decays is reconstructed, corresponding to a statistical significance of XX standard deviations. The signal yield is moderately (31%) inferior to those expected from simulation, with comparable backgrounds.
