PGU 2018, Hanoi, Vietnam
Abstract: Recent results now suggest that flavor physics could be an alternative path to breaking the Standard Model of particle physics. I will review the startup of Belle II and SuperKEKB, which began in April 2018, as well as the the long term physics program of Belle II and the innovative technologies that have made it possible. Belle II will soon become the leading experiment for exploration of the physics of B mesons, D mesons and tau leptons.
Keyword(s): Belle II ; SuperKEKB ; Phase 2 ; Pilot run ; VXD ; SVD ; PXD ; Lepton Flavor Violation ; New Physics
Note: 1 hour talk including questions Audience at Particles, Gravitation and the Universe is mostly composed of theorists from Vietnam and abroad who are not active in particle physics.
