Abstract: The Belle II experiment was constructed to address questions in the physics of the bottom and charm quarks, the tau lepton, CP violation, and searches for new physics. Data taking began in April 2018, and will resume in early 2019 after installation of the inner detector. Belle II will benefit from the high luminosity of the SuperKEKB collider, which is 40 times greater than that of any previous collider, and from technological upgrades with respect to the previous generation of e+e- experiments. I will review the physics of Belle II, presents early results from the 2018 run, and discuss future prospects.
