Charged leptonID on release-06 data and simulation

Abstract Effective particle identification capabilities are a strategic requirement for the physics program of the Belle II experiment. We describe the algorithms that are used at Belle II for identifying electrons and muons and separating them from charged hadrons. We show the performance obtained by the experiment during its Run 1, consisting of 426 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected at the energy-asymmetric $e^+ e^-$ collider SuperKEKB in 2019-2022 at center-of-mass energies at and near the mass of the $\Upsilon(4S)$.
