Abstract A range of flavour physics observables show tensions with their corresponding Standard Model expectations: measurements of semi-leptonic flavour-changing neutral current processes and ratios of semi-leptonic tree-level decays involving τ and light leptons show both deviations of the order of four standard deviations. If confirmed, both would be an intriguing sign of new physics. We present in this talk the current experimental situation of such processes and estimate how the future super-flavour factory Belle II will be able to influence the present tensions with the standard model expectations. In addition the future sensitivity of the tree-level CKM parameters |Vub| and |Vcb| is discussed.
