Abstract The Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy electron-positron collider is collecting the world’s high-intensity collisions at the $\Upsilon$(4S) since 2019. A data set comparable in size to that of predecessor experiments, and collected with a new detector, enables unique or world-leading results in indirect searches for non-standard-model physics through the weak interactions of quarks, in determinations of fundamental standard-model parameters, and in direct searches for low-mass dark matter. This talk presents a selection of recent results and briefly discusses future perspectives.
